Hi crafty friends.

Happy Sunday! Can you believe it? The last two days of 2012 are here! I decided to have people over for New year's eve. So today it week be grocery shopping, cleaning, and decoration making! I'm excited, I just hope I can get all I have to do today done!

For today's post, I wanted to share with you one of the quickest coolest boy birthday card Ive ever made. This card seriously took my 7 minutes to put together! The superman was a print and cut from the silhouette store! Best part, it was a superman themed party! Folded some paper, embossed, wrote out my sentiment, added an action wobble, and pesto! All done.

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do! My cameo will be working away today. I'll add the pics of my decorations tomorrow, if time permits. If not I will definitely share this week!

Cameo Creations Challenge-Welcome 2013

        Hope you all had a great holiday, celebrating close to friends and family.  I can't believe the holiday season came and now  it's over.  It always goes by so quickly.

 

     Today's post is for Cameo Creations. Whaaaa Hoooo!  The challenge is Welcome 2013. For my project I created a banner for my living room. I used holiday papers that I purchased from Pretty Papers Pretty Ribbons. The file was a silhouette file. I just transported the digital papers into the silhouette studio, sent it over to my printer and used the print and cut feature. I finished it off with some ribbon and stickles.

Here a brief summary of why we are holding this important hop!

"I am doing this hop for a long time friend of mine. Her sons (7yr old) best friend's dad died suddenly in Walmart
he had a sudden cardiac death Cardiomyopathy right in front of his 4 kids in June. It's so sad. My friend Regina said they were great family friends and everyone used to call him Superman. The kids are 11, 9, 7, and 18 months and the mom doesn't have any family nearby so my friend Regina is taking donations like gifts, etc. I guess the mom is having a hard time with his passing and having to take care of the 4 kids and still celebrate their first Christmas together without the dad. What I would like to try to do is get at least 30-50 gifts and/or cards to send to this family.

Also, if you would like to donate any other items like clothes, toys, gift cards, cash they need those too! The mom is a Stay At Home Mom and she was worried about getting the kids gifts this year.

If you would like to make a cash donation please contact me and I will give you the Paypal information, you can also request that they buy clothes or a toy or other item with the cash and they will get the family a gift from you!

It is challenge day at Cameo Creations Challenge! For this challenge we are creating anything with the white christmas theme. For my challenge project I created a candy treat that I will be making for my class this christmas.

I was so excited to be asked back again this year! Especially because this year I created an altar in my classroom. All the kids were able to color their own calaberas (skulls) and they brought in family pictures of those that had passed away. We will be working on the finishing touches today. I hope to add a picture of the Altar in a few hours.

What is Dia De Los Muertos you might be asking yourself? Here is a brief overview of the meaning and why it is celebrated: From Wiki:
Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where it is a national holiday, and all banks are closed. The celebration takes place on November 1, in connection with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day (November 2). Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts. They also leave possessions of the deceased.

    Do I have something sweet and simple to show you today. It is Challenge day over at Dilo En Espanol For this challenge you are asked to create a project with the theme "Halloween Birthday" What a fun idea, right.


    Here is the card I created:

Can you believe that I did not use a single cameo cut on this. I simply took out my paper cutter and started cutting paper. Added a few brads, button, some ribbon and some stickers and all done! I absolutely love it. The sentiment reads "Happy Birthday" This would be a great birthday card to give to anyone celebrating in October!

Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons Guest Designer

Hi crafty friends!

    I am uuuuber excited to be the guest designer for Lisa over at Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons today!!! She has the most super de duper cutest SVG files out right now. You have to go check them out. But wait to see what I have to show you first....

I used her Halloween Critters Cutting Files to create this hanging door sign for my classroom. Remember I did say I was on a sign making fix! I am loving changing out the signs each month!

Just look at this file!! Isn't it super cute! I cut out the spider and the web from her files. The Spooky was cut out using the cameo and a font off the computer. I used the frame from  the silhouette store. Added some MS glitter onto her legs. A girl's gotta shine right? I also added some to her bow. I did a little stiching around her shoes and presto. A super cute sign to put up for halloween! Oh yeah I also used wire to create the hanger and finished it off with a green bow! YAY now all DONE!

Hello my lovely crafty friends!

So what did I do/use?

I stamped it with Black StazOn, Added black embossing powder from Joann's then I colored in her lips with a red crayola marker. Added a reddish pink chalk to her cheeks and finished it off using color pastels on her leaves and red stickles for the flowers! Easy peasy right?
